The History of Dumisa Dorpers & White Dorpers

Dermosparaxis free and Brucellosis accredited stud and Ovine Johnes Disease score of 4 ABC points, which is a low prevalence area and we are in the Riverina Bio Security Plan.

Dumisa White Dorpers was established in 2009. Owner and manager, Andrea van Niekerk has an affiliation with Dorpers and White Dorpers for many years, due to her growing up and working for her parents stud in South Africa, and then managing/ overseeing her parents studs African White Dorpers and Dell Dorpers here in Australia. Andrea has also successfully completed 6 Senior Dorper courses.  Andrea has judged at the Wangarratta State Show and at the Toowoomba Royal Show and in 2015 has been invited to judge at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Dumisa White Dorpers have come a long way in 5 years. They have done extremely well in the show ring, by winning the Supreme White Dorper Exhibit at the 2011 ASWS, Dumisa Ranger 130055 won the Junior & Grand Champion White Dorper at ASWS 2014, Dumisa 130353 Junior Champion White Dorper Ewe with a lamb at foot at the Dubbo National Show 2014.  Dumisa “Turbo” 120467 got top priced White Dorper ram at our 3rd On Property Sale 2014 and Dumisa “Kluger” 120441 won the Senior & Grand Champion White Dorper Ram and Supreme Exhibit at Dubbo Nationals 2014. 

Between African & Dumisa White Dorpers we are currently running 250 high quality great shedding White Dorper ewes.  Dumisa & African White Dorpers is not all about winning shows, we breed rams with good structure and meat qualities and for tough and good conditions for stud and mostly commercial operations.

Dumisa Dorpers is a sister stud to Dell Dorpers and it was established in 2011 with three ewes which were bought from Newstead Dorpers, Winrae Dorpers & Tindarra Dorpers.  In August 2014 we bought 30 older stud ewes from Dell Dorpers and plan to grow our numbers by working in-conjunction with Dell Dorpers.
